This is the second Irish visit from rising Japanese singer and guitarist Ichiko Aoba following last year's debut at the Workman's Cellar for Foggy Notions' Flotations Series. Her seventh album Windswept Adan is a singer-songwriter album, a concept album, a piece of chamber music, and a contemporary orchestral work. It is heavily influenced by jazz, by folk and by impressionistic classical music. It is a soundtrack to an imaginary film; it is an album that tells a story; it is a piece of fantasy science fiction set to music; it is a sonic voyage through the East China Sea.
Special guest Mary Lattimore is a harpist and composer who experiments with her Lyon and Healy Concert Grand harp and effects. She has released four acclaimed solo albums including 2020's Silver Ladders on the Ghostly International label. Lattimore also writes harp parts for songs and recordings, performing and recording with such great artists as Meg Baird, Thurston Moore, Sharon Van Etten, Jarvis Cocker, Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn, Ed Askew and Fursaxa. This is her Irish debut.
